Dealing with Alarming News

What keeps you motivated and passionate when you see heavy alarms in the news?

Its art for me. Its the most beautiful thing that we do as humans. It has the power to alchemize our pain, uplift our spirit and help us remember our collective humanness. More than anything though its brings us together. I don’t watch the news these days because it does an amazing job of keeping us divided and in fear based mindsets. Art does the opposite.

There’s chaos in this world at every corner, in broad daylight and/or in the secret of nighttime, however, faith is the pillar of strength I fall on when seeing heavy alarms in the news or when I’m going through hardship. It’s easy to get caught up in the moments of emotions, but see things for what they are as they are, have hope that they’ll improve with effort put in and hopefully the work you do in your life spills over into someone else’s. Mainstream media will feed you whatever is needed to ignite fear in you, but information is what can free you, because we often fear what we don’t understand, much like the pandemic and the impact it had on small businesses. Every storm shall pass but what matters more is how we weather it and the action plan after the fact for the aftermath.

What keeps me motivated is I think about why I started my business, the amazing connection I’ve created, and the strong desire to want to affect positive change within our communities.

I pray, I pray for the nations, regions, and I have faith that things will get better.

Even with the uncertainty of the economy, we stay focused on our clients & the impact that our career has on their milestone events. It’s easy to get wrapped up looking at the news of all of the things that are going wrong or eventually going to go awry but being in the climate of weddings and celebrating love, it’s easy to remember why moments like those are the highs in people’s lives. We get to be the reason they get to fully enjoy their special events. That is something that no matter what is happening in our personal lives that we get to pride ourselves in our work!

Understanding that everything moves in cycles. If you worry about the news and every single news story you see and panic then it can cause problems in your business or personal finances. Having a clear plan and sticking with it through tough times is what keeps me motivated. What is bad today may not be bad tomorrow so you just have to stay aware.

My faith keeps me motivated and passionate. I am finally seeing what I am created to do, and not only that, I am walking in it. These past three years I have invested in coaches, mentors, and ultimately myself. Thankfully, I realize no matter what happens in the news, I am learning new tools and changing my own mindsets. These will help me get through any adversity. My struggle in life has been belief in self. As I overcome this struggle, it becomes easier to stay motivated and passionate. Ultimately, it is bigger than myself. I have a wife and a 19 month old, so I don’t have a choice to stop or give up. Plus I’ve given half of my life to seeing this vision come to fruition. I can’t give up now. It’s just the beginning.

What keeps me motivated and passionate when I see heavy alarms in the news is: positivity. There is so much negativity that happens on a daily basis, 24/7 around the world, that keeps people feeling down and unmotivated. I choose to stay upbeat so that I can provide an escape with entertainment and let people know that their is light in this world. They will smile and laugh again, and hopefully I can be apart of the group that makes it happen.

When I see heavy alarms in the news, I remind myself that there’s always something happening that’s out of my control and all things are working for the greater good. Life happens for me rather than to me, and I know the power of positivity. If I’m able to stay faithful and stay positive, I will continue to attract good things regardless of what’s happening in the world.

I am always up for a challenge and defeating the odds. When faced with adversity I roll up my sleeves and tackle it head on. In 2022 a lot of agent’s saw downturns in their business, but not us. We worked harder and smarter and came out on top. 2023 is predicted to be even tighter, but our goals continue to rise. We will focus on training, marketing and adding more valuable players to our team in order to achieve our goals in a downturn. We love helping people and making their dreams come true and that helps drive us to do more and to continue to learn and pollish our skills.

Like everyone else, I simply try to not let bother me. Observe and think, “What can I do about it.” Then turn a blind eye. But sometime simple seeds need to be planted then slowly bloom into the full form. Sometime things seem unbearable, like standing at the feet of a giant. Knowing you may not make it out in the end but still move forward and try because if you don’t, then nothing will ever change. Sometime all you need to do is believe you can do it, because you create your own future.

The news can be alarming for sure! Honestly, I try to take the news I hear with a grain of salt. I am so passionate about creating and selling my jewelry line that regardless of what is projected in the news, I have a strong desire to create. I started my business one month before COVID shut everything down, so I’m a bit familiar with adversity. I know that if I just keep working hard I will see results. While selling jewelry is wonderful, it is not my top motivator. I love talking with people, learning things about them and developing relationships. I also LOVE working with clay, learning new techniques and trying new things. I truly believe if I show up, work my butt off and be authentic with my customers and myself, my business will continue to be successful no matter what the news projects might happen.

When I see “heavy alarms” in the news related to mental health (which is often), what keeps me motivated is hope. When I see the impact of the work in mental health, the reduction of the stigma of mental health, and more people receiving the appropriate care they need, it keeps me a lot of hope for society. I’m also very passionate about speaking to groups of people around the world, and when I hear story after story about resiliency and people making it through the darkest times of their life, I know that positivity and improvement in mental health is certainly possible. Along with hope, it is so critical that we all maintain our own sense of well-being and self-care to truly take care of who were are, especially being in the “helping profession.” It took some time 🙂 but I’ve recognized the importance of taking care of yourself so you can be the best version of who you are and then be able to help to change the landscape in the mental health field.

I am a Person with positive outlook on life. I always believe that positive energy attracts positive energy. When things turn out not as I expected, I always tell myself that, my feeling will change in the next minute, then isn’t it good to be grounded and plan for the next move then crying over spilt milk that you can change nothing. As my business is versatile that I do not rely on one aspect to survive that makes things easier as changing a product mix , packaging or sizes can resolve the issue… for example…. While people are tight on budget then change the sizes and the prices making them more affordable. As people prefer self caring to go for professional treatments then focus more on self care products and knowledge sharing….

I’ve always felt like I needed to ensure that people that are in your space get the highest quality of inspiration and motivation. Often times, so many people are hurting and wear a smile to hide that pain. Offering a positive word fulfils me personally and I also feel that it is important for my organization and audience. It’s great to give constructive criticism as well to help an individual’s growth. You can’t elevate if you are not willing to be consistent, be held accountable and have a change mindset. I have emerged as an actress to the founder in my company for the last year, as a result of my drive to improve my mindset and growth skills continually.

As a health and mindset coach, I take it very seriously that sometimes we have to separate rational fears from irrational fears. I also understand as a naturally logical person, it also depends on how much risk you are willing to take on. For me, all life is a risk, life may not be here as we know it tomorrow and while I’m not destructive, I also tend to lean on the side of the unknown. As a recovering perfectionist, and 10 years in the corporate world, it was very scary and unknown for me to start a business, but as I continuously uncovered new sides of MYSELF, it became more intriguing. Just seeing the fruits of being willing to go into the unknown made it much easier to keep moving forward. Now, i’m not perfect and business isn’t always EASY, BUT you CANNOT FAIL if YOU KEEP MOVING. To me, mainstream news can be exactly what is going on, but how are you ever going to see your true potential if you make decisions only based on the news?

I am a Birth Trauma Specialist and Health Care Provider Burnout Specialist. The work that I do centers around staying grounded and present in your body no matter what is happening around you. I work from a Somatic point of view and am very aware of the nervous system and how it becomes aroused to protect us in times of threat – actual or perceived. While my specialty is in Health Care, the reaction of the nervous system is the same across all subjects. Therefore, when I read the news, I first make sure that I am grounded and feeling safe in my body in order to prepare myself for what I might see. I remind myself that we are living in the safest time period in all of human history (according the WHO) and that what I’m about to see does not change that. Then, as I read/watch/scroll the news, I constantly check in with my body to notice if I am becoming anxious – a sign of my body heading towards the fight/flight response. If I am, I either stop my news session completely and ground myself again or simply take a break until I am feeling safe enough to jump back in! After reading, I examine if the things I’ve encountered are things that I am able to act upon and if so, what actions am I willing to safely take. If what I’ve encountered is beyond my control, I do my best to learn what I need to know and then let it go.

What keeps me motivated and passionate during heavy alarms in the news is detaching from the world and getting in tune with nature. It can be so fulfilling to just take a walk in a forest like park and listen to meditation music mixed with the sounds of open nature.
