Today, The Platinum Mask channel would like to introduce Dymon Alfred for a conversation.
Hey! Please explain to the audience what you’re promoting.
My business, Pressure Nutrition.
What was the biggest obstacle in your journey and how did you overcome it?
Opening Pressure Nutrition during a global pandemic was the biggest obstacle, because all permits and plans just kept getting delayed because of the world being on pause. I signed my lease August 1st and didn’t open until December 19th because of the delays and mishaps, but I remember myself everyday but it was all part of Gods Plan for me. I was also completing my senior year at North Texas, and working on opening everyday. I went on to graduated from the University of North Texas with Bachelors in Mechanical and Energy Engineering with a minor in Mathematics in May 2021 all while working my business everyday.
What separates you from similar businesses in the Dallas-Fort Worth area?
I pride myself on making everyone feel like family. My slogan is ” Come in as strangers, leave as family.” Every time a customer walks in they are greeted with the same hello and goodbye. I also pride myself on remembering at least one thing about each customers to build that relationship with them. I go above and beyond with every interaction and order making it just the way they like.
Is there anything you wished you would have known earlier in your journey?
Both my parents were entrepreneurs when I was growing up, and my dad told me multiple times my life would be on pause for the first 2 years. I didn’t believe him, but now I do. Everything goes into this journey. Your blood, sweat, and tears. There’s always something to do, something to approve on, and something to take away. The journey is never ending and you have to show up everyday for yourself but also for your business for it to be successful.
Do you have any favorite spots in the Dallas-Fort Worth area?
Sidecar Social, Vidorra, Stirr, The Reservoir in Fort Worth!
Were there any major challenges due to the covid-19 pandemic? How did you overcome them?
The major challengers of the global pandemic was the extended wait times on permits and day to day work during build out. We had to make sure our crew was safe, and so was everyone that came into Pressure Nutrition.
Do you have a mentor and can you remember any key advice they have given you?
One of my mentors Raime Casebolt told me and continues to tell me every day “Obstacles are just opportunities to get creative. When times get hard for the world, it’s just your chance to step into your own lane. ” My dad, Roderick Alfred always told me “Just because you might not like doesn’t mean someone else won’t, think outside the box.”
Were your friends and family supportive of your mission?
My Friends and family were super supportive. It was actually one of my best friends Brenda Q. that designed my logo. Everyone was always there when I needed a shoulder to cry on, or just someone to vent to. I appreciate single one of them because without them I wouldn’t have gotten this far.
