Today, The Platinum Mask channel would like to introduce Lorin Ali for a conversation.

Hey! Please explain to the audience what you’re promoting.

I’m trying to promote my baking business Lorinssweets.

What was the biggest obstacle in your journey and how did you overcome it?

I do not like the word obstacle. To me the word implies self-imposed limitations. Anyone can achieve as much as they can imagine. Ambition and dreaming big regardless of what is going on leads to success. My drive pushes me each day, sometimes to the point that people wonder how I raise 2 children, work full time, and have time and energy to run a small business. I step out of my comfort zone and try to turn my dreams into a reality that I love and appreciate each day.

What separates you from similar artist in the Dallas-Fort Worth area?

What separates me from similar organizations is all about the scale, I am the owner, baker, designer, and advertiser. Every single one of my clients gets a tailored experience that’s unique to them, they don’t just pick from a catalogue of deserts but get to dream big in order for me to provide them exactly what they want.

Is there anything you wished you would have known earlier in your journey?

When I started this journey, I went in blind and learned from years of trial and error. The most important thing I learned which I wish I knew when I started comes down to one word – Relationships. I had no idea how much I would need to rely on the relationships I developed, from my clients to other business owners to the worker that helps me find the gold glitter (which always seems to hide from me). I’ve been blessed with the community my business has helped me create. I wouldn’t be where I am without each and everyone of them.

Were there any major challenges due to the covid-19 pandemic? How did you overcome them?

Once Covid hit, there were hardly any parties going on. People weren’t celebrating birthdays, bridal showers, etc. and that meant no orders for us. Staying optimistic helped me Overcome the challenges. I kept thinking people will eventually start having parties again once cases are down or there’s a vaccine. That’s exactly what happened once they discovered a vaccine things somewhat went back to normal and people started having their social gatherings again.

Were your friends and family supportive of your mission?

Yes they are! And they are what got me this far. When you have the right people there who are supporting you, anything is possible.
