It is said, “art is often a reflection of the artist.” This statement is definitely accurate with XDezend, a music producer and DJ based in Dallas, Texas. The name XDezend, a kind of acronym for a fictional word EX-Descend, represents how the artist is no longer descending into many lows in life: the lows which stemmed from mental illness and alcohol/drug addiction. After overcoming numerous obstacles and challenges XDezend hopes to raise awareness for mental health and to show others that no matter where they have been or what they have gone through, they can still conquer their demons and follow their dreams.
XDezend’s music is dark and intense, just like a reflection of his life. While performing, the artist is continually mixing from one song to another and frequently splicing other songs together, quickly creating live mashups with precision. His unconventional DJ style stems from his ability to let his mind and imagination run wild within a house music format, while simultaneously reading the crowd and playing the music that the audience wants to hear. He is a fresh artist releasing his first single, The Underground, in September 2021 under Gangsta House Records. With many plans in 2022, XDezend will have more music releases coming soon!
