Hey! Please explain to the audience what you’re promoting.
I’m trying to promote my food blog, Dish with dishu.
What was the biggest obstacle in your journey and how did you overcome it?
The biggest obstacle was actually trying to build an audience. I realized at the end of the day, it was not about how many people were following me, it was about my happiness and whoever would want to support my journey, they will.
What separates you from similar artist in the Dallas-Fort Worth area?
My authenticity to myself is what separates from other organizations. I show that in my work as well.
Is there anything you wished you would have known earlier in your journey?
I wish I knew how to start my blog. I wish I knew what other platforms I should put myself out there.
Do you have any favorite spots in the Dallas-Fort Worth area?
One of my favorite spots is Vidorra! Their atmosphere is amazing and their drinks are so good.
Were there any major challenges due to the covid-19 pandemic? How did you overcome them?
Because of the pandemic, I was not able to go try new places and review them. I ended up cooking a lot at home instead and shared my recipes as well.
What was your upbringing like and did you discover your passion early on?
Growing up in a strict household, our parents were not fond of us going out to eat. We were brought up eating traditional Gujarati food. It wasn’t until I went to college, I started to venture out and try different cuisines. I found my passion in food when I was on my own.
Do you have a mentor and can you remember any key advice they have given you?
I do have a mentor that I go to for almost everything. The key advice that she has given me is to keep on looking forward and never give up.
Were your friends and family supportive of your mission?
Yes! My family and friends are very supportive of my mission. They come with me on food adventures all the time and are very patient when I am having a photoshoot with the food.
