Today’s highlight goes to Lauren Sepulvador of Life with Lauren Blog!
Bio:
Lauren Sepulvador of Life with Lauren is a lifestyle blogger who works as a Marketing Coordinator in Downtown Dallas. She recently started Graduate School to pursue an M.S in Counseling and Development with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She loves all things creative (crafting or digital), trying new food spots all over Dallas, taking pictures for fun, and hanging out with her husband and two Shih-Tzu’s in her free time.
Has it been a challenge coming with ideas to talk about on the “Life with Lauren” blog during COVID-19?
It has been challenging to stay motivated in general during quarantine. In a normal environment, it is so much easier to be motivated by external factors like collaborating with others in real-time, having physical reminders when things are due, and just a normal schedule in general. Now people must find ways to keep themselves accountable while being at home. My blog is my happy place so whenever a new post idea hits me it’s nothing but fun writing about it. So, I guess the hardest part is being consistent with my posts when life gets crazy. I am a huge and I mean HUGE fan of planners and organization, which you can read about here if you find yourself in a rut.
I saw your post on your fall bucket list, anything specific you’re looking forward to or excited for?
Over on my blog, it’s no surprise fall is my favorite time of year so I shared a few of the things I am looking forward to most this season. Let’s be real it’s been harder to find joy for a lot of people this year, so grab it when you can! My husband and I recently went to the Dallas Arboretum to celebrate my birthday and it was wonderful. It has become an annual tradition of ours and I recommend it to anyone living in Dallas. I’m looking forward to checking out Magnolia Market and visiting Waco, Texas with one of my girlfriends the most. Not going to lie, I have wasted a lot of time scrolling on TikTok (oops). Somehow, I stumbled into Harry Potter fandom accounts and I want to re-watch the series so badly now. Yay, for resurfacing teen obsessions during this dark time, ha!
Tell us about your summer reading list post and were there any novels that really stuck with you?
One blessing from being in quarantine is that it has gifted me so much more time to read. I’ve been reading more books than ever these last six months. I really recommend Untamed by Glennon Doyle because it has stuck with me so much. I’ve truly never read anything like it and I think every woman can find truth in it. I plan on sharing a fall reading list once I finish a few more reads. It’s so beneficial to find a hobby that you do just for fun. I tried out the whole plant thing and it was a total fail. Find something that works for you! For me, that’s reading, crafting, and being creative however possible.
Why did you decide to go to Grad School?
It’s no surprise that people are hurting. I have gone to counseling several times throughout my life and recommend it to everyone. After some soul searching earlier this year, I discovered this is what I want to do with my life. I want to help others as my past counselors have helped me. I am on a journey to become a true mental health advocate and hope that people aren’t scared to ask for what they need. Help is out there! It’s not always a smooth road in chasing your passion but I know it will be worth it in the end.
