Today, The Platinum Mask channel would like to introduce Jason Garcia for a conversation.

What was the biggest obstacle in your journey and how did you overcome it?

Senior year I had saved up whatever money I could, and I used it to go from Fresno to Los Angeles two times a month. There I would work on sets for free to gain more experience about filmmaking. Once I graduated high school in 2019, I made a Film Reel and got a job at a media company in my hometown where I got to direct and camera operate for commercials and documentaries. Moving from another state and leaving my family and friends to start this new journey. -Being a freelancer as a young adult in a new location -Starting my new company from scratch. -Adjusting to the new environment -Adjusting and evolving with technology as it develops in the film industry

What separates you from similar artist in the Dallas-Fort Worth area?

I believe what separates me from other organizations in Dallas-Fort Worth is that instead of going to big company with big staff you can talk to me about your goal. I’m a creative director that has a lot of hats from filmmaking, photography, and producing.

Do you have any favorite spots in the Dallas-Fort Worth area?

I love going to Lake Lewisville because it’s my place to relax and think about creative ideas.

Were there any major challenges due to the covid-19 pandemic? How did you overcome them?

In 2020 I wanted to make more creative projects and decided to become a freelancer. There were a lot of ups and downs involved, especially since I began freelancing right before the Covid-19 pandemic hit, but I did not give up and managed to keep on doing what I love.

What was your upbringing like and did you discover your passion early on?

I found my passion for filmmaking and photography by accident. It all started in high school during my sophomore year. I was on the football team, and during the season, I got injured. I couldn’t play a sport I was passionate about, but fortunately enough I found a new passion. I took an unexpected interest in photography, and that is where my life changed for the best. I remember the moment I decided to take that first step and I bought my first camera for Christmas in 2016; it was a Nikon D3300. This camera was the one that I used to start teaching myself about photography.
