What was the biggest obstacle in your journey and how did you overcome it?
In all honesty my biggest obstacle in my journey has been myself. A lot of times I hold myself back due to self doubt. Definitely something i’ve been working on tho!
Is there anything you wished you would have known earlier in your journey?
I wish that I would’ve taken myself more serious earlier on. But i believe that everything happens for a reason and timing is everything.
Do you have any favorite spots in the Dallas-Fort Worth area?
Not yet ! I didn’t get out much my first year down here. But i hope to change that soon!
Were there any major challenges due to the covid-19 pandemic? How did you overcome them?
It was such a weird time for everyone. Everything was challenging, especially online school. It was hard not being able to be with my friends all the time. I remember not being able to do choir in person and having to take the class online. It was honestly such a mess.
Lucky for me my senior year I was able to go back in person to school. Which definitely made me feel better. So that definitely played a part in me overcoming my obstacles with Covid.
What was your upbringing like and did you discover your passion early on?
Growing up I always had a love for music. When I was little I would take my Ipod with me everywhere just so i could listen to it. My older sister loved music as well, so we were ALWAYS listening to it. Growing up I would tell my mom all the time. “i’m gonna be famous when i grow up”. So i’ve always known what i wanted to do. By the age 13 I realized that I was actually a pretty good singer. And i started taking the steps to becoming even better. Like choir, voice lessons, and joining a talent agency.
Do you have a mentor and can you remember any key advice they have given you?
My voice coach definitely had a big effect on me. She was always pushing me to be better. Not only musically but just in general.
