Hey! Please explain to the audience what you’re promoting.
I started Resilient (an all-natural homemade and handmade skincare line) on a journey of self-care where I discovered the many things, I was using on my skin were harmful and extremely toxic. I’ve spent years trying to find the right products that wouldn’t cause my skin to break out or have any other issues. Products that actually WORKED! After doing research I found that I could make my own products that I knew for sure were all natural. With the help of my wife (shoutout to her), I started Resilient. I came up with the name because the word Resilient is powerful. Being resilient means facing difficulties head-on instead of falling into despair or using unhealthy coping strategies. Resilience is often defined as the mental reservoir of strength that helps people handle stress and hardship. Resilience is being able to drawn upon this strength to cope and recover from challenges. And what better way to show resilience than with an all-natural skincare line? Empowering the body, the mind, and the soul with a line of handmade all natural skin care products has always been my goal.
What was the biggest obstacle in your journey and how did you overcome it?
Honestly, nothing great comes easy. It hasn’t always been smooth but honestly, I’m glad I saw it through. In the beginning, sales weren’t great and a hard time trying to get people to try out my products but once they did? It’s been great since. My biggest obstacle has always been taking a chance on myself and my business. I overcame it by sticking to my plans, trusting myself and the process.
What separates you from similar businesses in the Dallas-Fort Worth area?
What separates me is that most skincare companies claim to use all natural products but that is not always true. There are a lot of chemicals most people don’t realize are involved in making their skincare products. My products are completely natural, there are ZERO chemicals. I make everything by hand, in the comfort of my kitchen and bring together products that treat sensitive skin with care.
Were your friends and family supportive of your mission?
My family has been very supportive in my journey. Everyone orders, everyone tries my products. They’ve tried every product I have made. They give me honest feedback that I need to keep going and keep making my products better.
