Today, The Platinum Mask channel would like to introduce Taylor Lee for a conversation.

Hey! Please explain to the audience what you’re promoting.

TayloredToYou: Wardrobe Stylist specializing in sustainability. My focus is to make sure my clients are ecstatic knowing that with my help, their wardrobe is functional, fashionable, and financially feasible. Style is not about the price or what you buy but how you wear it. Regardless of what the tag says, we make it look good!

What was the biggest obstacle in your journey and how did you overcome it?

Impatience. In entrepreneurship, especially as an amateur, it is so easy to set expectations with specific due dates. Doing so is a huge disservice to yourself because everything happens in due time. Don’t rush the process.

What separates you from similar artist in the Dallas-Fort Worth area?

My specialty! I easily work with smaller/lower budgets and am notorious for my secondhand finds.

Is there anything you wished you would have known earlier in your journey?

To slow down. Hyper-independence can lead to you feeling like you have to rush and accomplish everything on your own but slowing down to study and research those who came before you will truly help guide you into the business person you desire to be.

Do you have any favorite spots in the Dallas-Fort Worth area?

At the moment my favorite spot would have to be Whiskeys; a black owned bar with over 100 whiskey selections.

Were there any major challenges due to the covid-19 pandemic? How did you overcome them?

Most definitely, my biggest challenge was just learning how to navigate through something no one had ever experienced and still being able to run a functioning business that included me doing a lot of in-person, hands-on work. But, you adjust, you adapt, and you make it work. I added on some virtual/digital options to my service list and took extra sanitation precautions with the services that weren’t.

What was your upbringing like and did you discover your passion early on?

My upbringing was pretty simple, I’m a country girl born and raised. There wasn’t much artistic expression where I’m from but moving to Texas at 12 years old was a culture shock for sure. The music, the slang, the style of dress, the people, the food, everything. I think that’s what initiated my interest in fashion and styling.

Do you have a mentor and can you remember any key advice they have given you?

I actually don’t have a mentor but I do follow and study a few people heavily to learn and be inspired.

Were your friends and family supportive of your mission?

Of course my friends and family were supportive! They could see how much I love what I do, how determined I am and how naturally good at it I am so they fully support any business moves I make.
